Pendulum counterpoint (mic acts) is a performance for two performers, suspended microphones, and structured improvisation. The piece explores rhythm, delay, and resonance through the physical motion of swinging microphones, which capture and distort sounds from the performers and surrounding space. Drawing from ideas of counterpoint and cyclical time, the work uses the pendulum’s oscillation as both a visual and sonic score. Sound becomes a moving target—shaped by proximity, angle, and timing—while bodies respond to and play with these shifting conditions. The performance reflects on presence, repetition, and the mechanics of perception.
