Truncated Cones is a three-channel sound installation composed of three modified Home Depot buckets that function as speakers. The work disrupts the boundary between the immediate environment and the curated aural experience. Depending on where one stands, a whisper may travel from the inside to the outside, chatter may leak from the outside to the inside, or room feedback may pulsate between the negative and positive spaces. The listener is invited to continually search for the right place from which to hear, where the distinction between the sound produced by the installation and the surrounding environment becomes unstable.
